Beautiful Danger (In the Company of Vampires #1) - Michele Hauf I received Beautiful Danger from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review. I’ve held on to this review for a while… It’s not that I didn’t like Beautiful Danger. There were parts of it that were great. The problem was that there were also parts of it that weren’t quite as great.I loved the story and the concept. I mean, who wouldn’t love a vampire that was just a little ‘nuts.’ That’s pretty much what Domingos was. He was made that way by a group of sadistic werewolves. Then there was the crazy stuff going on with the order of hunters that Lark fought with. Lark and Domingo were both damaged in a way. Domingos wasn’t a bad guy, he only killed out of vengeance. Lark wasn’t an evil hunter either. She was saddled with a lot of guilt and sought vengeance as well. It should have been the perfect love story as far as PNR reads go. Yet, there just seemed to be something off.I’ve read other books by Michele Hauf and loved them so I’m just going to chalk this one up to one of those things. It could have been my mood at the time or it could have been just not being able to connect with the characters. I’ll give Michele Hauf and the Nocturne books another shot though. I might even give this one another read in a couple of months. If my opinion changes, I’ll be sure to let you know.
