I really did like this story. It had a lot of potential, it just didn’t grab me and it’s one of those reads that I can’t really put my finger on why.Darcy was a strong female MC. She knew what she wanted, she had principles and stuck to them and she was a loyal friend. Seth was determined to win Darcy over, but not enough to commit. His pain was deeper than Darcy’s because his was engrained in him from childhood. His profession had him dealing with divorced couples almost exclusively so I can see why he was so jaded as far as HEAs were concerned.Maybe it is because I don’t read a lot of contemporary romances or maybe it is because I didn’t connect with the situation that the characters were put in. For whatever reason, I just didn’t ‘feel’ as much as I thought I should. It was still an entertaining read and readers who enjoy contemporary romance will probably enjoy it.
